Leiko Ikemura at Museo de Arte de Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico

Año del Usagi, 4 Feb - 25 Jun 2023

Usagi means ‘rabbit’ or ‘hare’ in Japanese. As Ikemura writes in one of her poems, the animal has the ability to ’spring from border to border / And break the established linear system’. Through different media – painting, sculpture, video and poetry – we experienced how the artist crosses biographical, geographical, cultural and artistic boundaries.
