We are pleased to announce the bequest of 'Primitive Irruption' from 2021 by Jose Dávila to the city of Palma. this generous contribution embodies his commitment to the cultural landscape of the city.
The sculpture was first created parallel to the exhibition 'Fuerzas Opuestas' at Kewenig Palma in September 2021. It was presented in Palma's Moll Vell, in collaboration with the Autoritat Portuaria. The sculpture – consisting of steel beams stacked with a boulder – is shaped by a seemingly delicate equilibrium that embodies gravity, resistance and the latent energy at play in space and time. From now on, it will part of the scenery of Can Pastilla.
We would like to acknowledge the Ajuntament de Palma and Palma Cultura's support and Prada Art's help for the sculpture's installation.
