We are pleased to announce that Sandra Vásquez de la Horra will be awarded the Käthe Kollwitz Prize 2023. This prestigious award recognises her remarkable talent as an artist who fearlessly explores the global conflicts faced by our society through her unique visual language.
Vásquez de la Horra's works beautifully intertwine archetypes from our collective consciousness, while delving into profound themes of gender, sexuality, intercultural reflections, and spiritual exploration.
The jury for the Käthe-Kollwitz-Preis 2023 is composed by the Academy der Künste members Ulrike Grossarth, Raimund Kummer and Ulrike Rosenbach.
Following the award, 2024 Sandra Vásquez de la Horra will be honoured next year with a solo exhibition at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin.
