Curated by Viviana Kuri, this exhibition brings together works that embody balance and gravity through uncanny association of materials – steel, stone, glass, sand and straps. Using constructions that range from random chaos to geometrical harmony, Dávila explores existential paradoxes between stillness and tension.

His pieces are not simply what the eyes see, they break the order of the apparent; they are not naive, they are fragments of the world in which he is involved; he is not objective, he only intends to be honest

Trained as an architect, Dávila takes a close examination at the natural forces and the propriety of his materials to compose delicately balanced sculptures. The realness that emanates from the work stems from the combination of brute matter with the laws of physics – elements that cannot deceive.
