Kounellis ( 1936 Piraeus, Greece – 2017 Rome, Italy), one of the founding fathers of the Arte Povera movement, created an entirely new aesthetic lexicon based on the use of simple materials combined with European and Mediterranean spiritual and cultural references. This presentation examines critical questions of culture, nature, and humanity through the examination of iconic works rarely or never-before seen.
